Why We Participate
We’ve joined the fight against pediatric cancer and blood disorders by signing up for the KC Cares for Kids Walk. Now, we need your help to reach our fundraising goal. It’s going to take all of us to put an end to childhood cancer and blood disorders, so please support us by donating or by joining our team.
Many of you know that CMH has been a part of our family for many years as Autumn has fought and beaten cancer twice! In February of this year, Autumn was officially cancer-free for three years, and we can't wait to celebrate more milestones like it. Our now 5-year-old has started school, participates in sports, and wants to become a doctor! She can thrive in life because of the care received by the teams at CMH. We have had so much support on a personal level and we now want to give back to the hospital that has helped us so much. Just like always the smallest amount helps out.
Why Children’s Mercy?
Each year, Children’s Mercy provides comprehensive care to nearly 2,000 children with childhood cancers, sickle cell disease, hemophilia, and other blood disorders, with survival rates frequently above national averages.
Children’s Mercy has one of the nation’s largest Child Life programs, making the hospital experience more comfortable for patients and families.
From equipment made for their smaller bodies to unique specialty areas for infants, children, and teenagers, everything at Children’s Mercy is designed for children so that we can best serve them at all stages of growth.
